Start building on X1, the scaling solution powered by OKX

Ankr is thrilled to announce that we’ve made an essential addition to our RPC service with the X1 layer 2 network! This is great news for Web3 devs looking to get the jump on building on top of X1 for scalable and trusted dApp development! Users will be able to access X1 Public and Premium RPCs, make request calls, and receive information returns that are identical to the results they would get by running a X1 full node themselves.

What is X1?

X1 is a ZK-powered layer 2 network that connects the OKX and Ethereum communities to allow anyone to take part in a truly global on-chain ecosystem. The OKX team built X1 as a portal to connect OKX products, users, and assets to Web3, and to provide an open ecosystem that anyone can build on.

Using OKB as the X1 native token, users can move value seamlessly between OKX and X1 and experience:

  • EVM compatibility: Enable ZK-powered DApps on X1, with 100% EVM compatibility and easy-to-use developer tools for deployment
  • Powered by Polygon: A zkEVM layer 2 solution based on Polygon CDK, ensuring near-instant finality, unified liquidity, and independent data availability
  • Trusted network: Securely deploy any EVM smart contracts and onramp your assets from OKX, Ethereum, and other interoperable chains
  • Portal to Web3: Enter the world of Web3 via OKX Wallet, built with compact infrastructure modules to create innovative DApps

What Are Ankr’s New X1 RPC Connections?

  • Ankr’s X1 RPCs (Remote Procedure Calls) connect your wallet, command-line interface, or dApp with the X1 network. They act as a messenger or blockchain router that relays on-chain information between X1 nodes, dApps, and ultimately end-users so they can execute necessary tasks like transactions, populate wallet balances, fetch ownership information, and much more.

  • X1 RPC endpoints are a gateway for developers to interface directly with X1 — a portal to communicate easily, remotely, and with no need to go through the DevOps of establishing their own X1 nodes.

  • Ankr is providing a geo-distributed X1 RPC comprised of blockchain nodes running worldwide for incredibly low latency and reliable connections.

How Do the X1 RPCs Help Developers?

Building with X1 is an excellent choice to create fast and scalable dApps but requires access to the information on X1 nodes to do so. Therefore, Ankr’s RPC solves the following developer troubles:

Eliminates complex node ops - Ankr’s X1 RPCs will completely remove the need for many developers to set up their own X1 nodes, removing hours of time spent building, calibrating, and fixing node issues.

Grants access to advanced tools -  Ankr’s Premium RPC Plan instantly grants access to the best tools to build applications quickly, including:

  • At least 1,500 X1 req/sec
  • Dedicated X1 endpoints
  • Prioritized requests
  • WebSockets (WS) capabilities

Powers apps and open-source software that need access to X1 - Connect with a cluster of high-performance nodes that holds the information you need to build and operate dApps with X1 chain capabilities.

Supports the X1 networkAnkr will strengthen the X1 network globally by offering easier development and a broader, decentralized node infrastructure.

How to Make Your First Call to X1

You can get started now by heading to Ankr’s RPC Service to make your first call! You can use the X1 endpoint to call the chain using the standard EVM JSON RPC methods.
