However, we tend to forget that our niche area of tech is just that – very niche. We just convinced the traditional markets and regulators to give the O.G. cryptocurrency, BTC, a chance. It took years of education and regulatory convincing to get that done. Our reward at the beginning of summer was that bitcoin ETFs held nearly [$70B](https://cointelegraph.com/news/bitcoin-exchange-traded-products-hold-over-1-million-btc) in bitcoin and growing.

So how will ETH ETFs fare in comparison?

Many expected the ETH ETF inflows to be muted compared to bitcoin’s, and most expected that it would be very similar to bitcoin’s reception only on a smaller scale. Ethereum’s marketcap is about 25% that of bitcoin’s at the time of writing which is why some experts surmised that ETH ETFs reaching the range of [20%](https://www.wealthmanagement.com/etfs/spot-ethereum-etfs-expected-see-fraction-inflows-compared-bitcoin-funds) of where bitcoin products were would be a positive sign.

Ethereum inflows have been modest thus far. However, on Tuesday last week, the ETFs took on more ETH than on their debut. Additionally, the weekly [ETF flows turned positive](https://cointelegraph.com/news/ether-etf-weekly-flow-hits-positive) for first time since their launch. This news revives optimism that the funds will help boost the price appreciation of ETH this year. Many maintain faith that “ETF investors with long-term strategies are calmly buying Ethereum," as Swyftx’s Pav Hundal put it to [Decrypt](https://decrypt.co/243517/ethereum-etfs-took-in-more-eth-yesterday-than-on-their-debut-but-not-more-cash).

Of course, those who hold ETH yearn for it to surpass its all-time high in 2021, as bitcoin did earlier this year. But perhaps more importantly, gradual capital inflows to ETFs will lead to increased education, regulation, and adoption of the Ethereum ecosystem. Is Ethereum ready to take it all on?

Future use cases from businesses and governments will naturally flow to the network that can provide the unique benefits of blockchain with the fewest limitations in efficiency, scalability, and UX.

It’s up to the Ethereum community to finish the job of adapting, educating, and innovating the ecosystem the final step of the way to viability as a replacement for centralized systems.

The disruption, affecting everything from banks and airports to hospitals, exposed the fragility of a world increasingly reliant on centralized digital systems with apparent single points of failure.

The disruption begs the question, what happens one day when systems don’t come back online as easily? Worries of ‘techmageddon’ are all the more significant as hacks become more advanced and AI tools are thrown into the mix.

So what lessons have we learned, and how can we use decentralization to defend against the threat of the world going dark more often? Let’s take a look.

- **Google 2020:** Affected Google's core services, including YouTube, Gmail, and Google Drive, caused significant disruption for users worldwide. The incident emphasized the company's service dominance and the reliance of many on its services.
- **Fastly 2021:** Caused significant disruptions to a wide range of websites and online services that relied on Fastly's content delivery network (CDN). Major platforms like Amazon, Reddit, The New York Times, and others were affected.
- **Twitter and Instagram 2022:** A simultaneous outage of both platforms caused a significant disruption in social media usage.
- **Amazon Web Services 2023:** In June 2023, AWS experienced a significant outage in its Northern Virginia (US-EAST-1) region. This region is a critical hub for many large enterprises and high-traffic websites.

In each of these cases, there was a failure due to the centralization and concentration of digital services and infrastructure. As Ankr has nodes and load balancers running in 40+ data centers in more global regions than any provider, we have the unique ability to serve RPC requests closer to their point of origin as well as extremely strong protection against outages even on a regional level. The idea behind geo-based routing is to minimize network latency and improve the overall performance of the system by reducing the time it takes for data to travel between the client and the server.

## Q1: Designing the Innovative Neura Stack & Strategy

The first quarter was dedicated to establishing a strong foundation for Neura. We assembled Ankr’s world-class team of blockchain engineers, cryptography experts, and AI specialists. Together, they meticulously planned our strategic direction, designing a platform that went beyond what has been done before in the blockchain x AI space.

March culminated in the release of our comprehensive whitepaper, outlining the vision and technical details of the Neura protocol, including:

- **Comet BFT Consensus:** We detailed the chosen consensus [CometBFT](https://docs.cometbft.com/v0.37/introduction/what-is-cometbft) consensus engine and explained how it ensures secure and scalable transaction processing for AI workloads.

- **IBC Protocol:** Neura also supports the Inter-Blockchain Communication protocol ([IBC](https://tutorials.cosmos.network/academy/3-ibc/1-what-is-ibc.html)) through the Cosmos SDK. This offers integration with the wider Cosmos network, including the influential Babylon module.

- **GPU Accessibility and Scaling:** Neura tackles the persistent infrastructure scalability challenge faced by AI projects by creating a vibrant ecosystem of decentralized GPU providers, ensuring that AI and cloud computing projects have immediate access to necessary computational resources.

- **Financial Scalability Via IMOs:** Neura introduces Initial Model Offerings (IMOs), a new funding mechanism designed to democratize investment in AI development while ensuring transparent ownership and equitable revenue sharing with token standards like ERC-404 and ERC-7641.

- **Decentralized Storage Mechanisms:** With only critical transactions occurring on-chain and AI data storage occurring off-chain, Neura offers the best of high performance and data integrity with our decentralized data storage collaborators IPFS, EigenLayer, Arweave, and Celestia.

April marked a significant milestone with the launch of the Neura Devnet, our dedicated testing environment. This phase allowed developers and enthusiasts to explore the Neura platform's capabilities firsthand. Their invaluable feedback helped us refine and optimize the system for real-world AI applications.

Security is paramount at Neura, so May saw the completion of a rigorous preliminary security audit conducted by the team. This audit assessed the resilience of our smart contracts, consensus mechanism, and overall network architecture against potential vulnerabilities.

June brought the exciting release of our Practice Initial Model Offering (IMO) for our community members. ## Q4: The Moment We’ve All Been Waiting for: Mainnet Launch and Ecosystem Explosion

Get ready, because Q4 is going to be monumental! We'll be deploying the full Neura Mainnet, marking the official arrival of the future of AI on the blockchain. This is just the beginning – brace yourselves for:

- **Partial ANKR Token Migration:** A seamless migration of a portion of the ANKR token supply to the Neura chain, enabling enhanced TVL and value capture within the Neura ecosystem.

### Contribute to Mainnet IMOs

Assist in crowdfunding new AI projects set to launch on Neura by owning their ERC-404 (share in ownership) and ERC-7641 (share in revenue) tokens. Community members have a large opportunity to be the first to get in on the ground floor of investing in AI models on Neura. **All participants will need ANKR tokens to take part in any IMO.**

### Participate in the GPU economy

In the near future, Neura and its partners will allow for the democratized ownership of GPU resources on the network. This means that community members will be able to **own a portion of GPU power and earn a share of fees** from AI projects using GPU for task completion.

As detailed in the Neura whitepaper, The ANKR token will become the sole currency for all transactions, including AI model usage, IMO token purchases, and network staking for security and consensus.
