Ankr is excited to announce a new partnership with SushiSwap – the fully decentralized exchange that recently launched Stable Liquidity Pools as a complement with its existing automated market making (AMM) pools. Under our collaboration, SushiSwap is launching a Stable Liquidity Pool in combitination with BentoBox for MATIC and aMATICc liquid staking tokens, significantly reducing the capital inefficiency of liquid staking liquidity pool.

BentoBox is a vault that enables SushiSwap to perform very conservative strategies to generate yield on deposited tokens in BentoBox by depositing these tokens on dApps such as Aave. Combining Stable Liquidity Pools and BentoBox will enable liquidity providers to earn lending interest on MATIC, while continuing to benefit from Liquid staking rewards from aMATICc, swap fees from SushiSwap (0.05%) and farming rewards. Furthermore, funds in Bentobox can also be used for flash loans to generate a small fee, thus generating extra yield.

The mechanisms of the BentoBox will see about 70% of the MATIC tokens lent through Aave and generating interest. The remaining 30% will be kept in the liquidity pool and freely used to swap between aMATICc and MATIC.

Currently, the main source of yield in liquidity pools comes from swap fees and farming rewards. However, the portion of swap fees does not compensate the opportunity cost of no longer staking half of MATIC in the liquidity pool when compared to simply staking MATIC.

Ankr’s goal has been to attempt to reduce the capital inefficiency of [liquid staking](https://www.ankr.com/blog/liquid-staking-a-comprehensive-guide/) liquidity pools by finding innovative solutions through DeFi partners such as SushiSwap to reward liquidity providers by enabling them to access additional yield in a sustainable way by fully using the benefits of DeFi composability.

## **What is Unique About Ankr and SushiSwap’s BentoBox**

BentoBox’s single vault token-holding mechanism is a game-changer. It utilizes a principal location for held assets, eliminating an unnecessary multitude of transactions, which lowers the overall gas processing fees for internal token transfers. The combination of a new venue for yield generation and gas optimization is a feature that Liquid Staking Liquidity Providers will greatly benefit and reducing significantly the capital inefficiency of liquid staking liquidity pools by accessing an additional sustainable stream of lending rewards coming from Aave.

# Why Trustlessness Matters in Staking?

As you might know, we've been working on the subject of how to participate in proof-of-stake ecosystems securely. The key challenge in the liquid staking space is how to reduce centralized party risk while maintaining liquidity of staked assets and an effortless user experience (ie: not having to set up a node to stake).

We believe that trustless staking is vitally important for the future of ETH staking because it reduces the risk of any single entity gaining control of large amounts of staked assets. Lido and Coinbase staking currently control the vast majority of Ethereum staked assets and thus, This could manipulate the Ethereum network. This goes against the trustless, decentralized ethos that Ethereum was founded on. Likewise, this is why we’re committed to building a trustless staking solution that allows users to stake their ETH without having to worry about centralized party risk.

# SSV Staking as a Trustless Solution

SSV stands for Secret Shared Validator, which means that the staking node architecture is built to ensure that if one of the operators isn’t trustworthy, it won’t affect the network as a whole. In other words, SSV technology significantly reduces slashing risk by ensuring that node operation is shared by multiple operators.

The core barrier to staking without operating a node is how in the world to know which nodes to trust. SSV technology provides a solution to this very challenge by encrypting the node’s validator keys and splitting them into four Keyshares. Then, they distribute these KeyShares to four node operators who share node management responsibilities.

## How Can I Stake on Ankr With My Coinbase Wallet? 

Anyone with the Coinbase Wallet app is now able to use Ankr Staking. However, you will need to make sure you have the browser extension installed. 

1. Head to the Ankr Staking platform to see all of the available staking options. Hover your cursor over the option that looks interesting to you and select “stake.” You can then connect your Coinbase Wallet browser extension as prompted. If you prefer to use your smartphone, you can also connect to Ankr’s Staking platform from the Coinbase Wallet mobile app’s dapp browser.

2. Once your wallet is connected, you are able to select the amount of the token you wish to stake. Once the transaction is approved, you can view all of your staked assets within the dashboard tab of Ankr Staking and track your rewards. You can also track your staked assets in the DeFi tab within Coinbase Wallet.

3. With liquid staking options, you will be granted a new liquid staking token such as aETHb or aAVAXb. The liquid staking tokens will automatically be sent to your Coinbase Wallet after you stake. These tokens deliver your staking rewards as their balance will increase in your Coinbase Wallet daily. The best part of liquid staking is that you can deploy these tokens in DeFi to earn more on top of your staking rewards. You can view all the earning options within the DeFi tab of Ankr Staking.

Ankr currently has a wide selection of crypto assets available to stake on our platform. You can choose between 9 different tokens to start earning more with your funds:
